the sims 2 custom content help?

hey guiys. well i'm able to use my custom content when i create a sim or use the mirror..but when i try to pick a new everyday outfit for the sims using the closet, none of the custom content is in there! is this normal? do i have to download a special closet so that in my game i'm able to change it? thank you!

1. You don't use a closet to get new clothes in the sims 2. You have to go to a community lot and buy new outfits. You can either build a community lot that your sims can go to, or you can place one of the premade lots down that Maxis made. If you're going to build one, make sure that you include a clothing rack, and a cash register, so your sims can shop there. And as long as your clothes show up in create a sim, they should show up when you go shopping for new clothes.
