What tools do you use to keep yourself organised and your mind free?

I want to head straight into 2007 feeling uncluttered and my mind free. How do you organised yourself on a daily basis? How do you make sure you get the most out of each day? What websites, software, tools do you use to manage your life. Whether you're managing a business or your home how do you do it without losing your mind and still manage to relax?

  1. Huge notice board. Separated into 7 segments marked "Mon" - "Sun". Anything I need to do is put up with a date & time on the appropriate day.
  2. Write lists! And then prioritize that list. For stuff that has to be done by a specific date, such as paying bills, write it down on a calendar. Then do all the stuff on your list and then RELAX knowing you accomplished everything on your list. Of course life throws us curveballs so you also have to be able to go with the flow. So if you can't complete the last items on your list, put it at the top of tomorrow's. It works for me.
  3. use the program "StickyPad" to leave post its on your desktop; http://www.greeneclipsesoftware.com/stickypad.html also i use rainlender; its a desktop calender with a to do and events lits; http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Rainlendar-Download-20288.html
  4. Big calander with lots of space to write, stick it notes over the house and lists of everything I want to do. I don't use the computer to organize life - don't have the time for that and anyway, what would I do in a power cut?? How would I know what to do next?? And then after that?? And that?? I'd be a crumbling heap of nerves as life went into the black space of the unknown and my list of life being held ransom in the black box. Nope - make a list of all the things you want to achieve in the week - things that don't matter which day you do them and score them off as you go along. Each morning make a daily list of things that need doing then try to have them scored off by tea time. Do small jobs as they come up as they soon add together to make huge jobs that overwhelm and you can't be bothered doing. Delegate if possible. Happy 2007!
  5. Only one tool. That is my Mind! Yes, use your mind constructively to clear all clutter. It's easy. Take one pad or note book. Write down "where you are now". In all aspects: financially, emotionally, physically... etc, etc. Write everything that comes into your mind while writing. Then Write "Where you want to go". Your goals, aspirations, ambitions, fascinations and all. Write everything. Don't control your feelings. Even some naughtiest. Now see your self "The Gap". List what you must do to fill the gap between where you are and where you want to go. Write down all the things you need to do. You can do. You must do. Then, "Prioritize" things to do. Start doing one by one. And see your self the difference... If you do this exercise once in a month... then there will be no clutter in your mind and in your life. Everything will be as you dream and desire... All the best... And have a very happy new year 2007!
